Teves breaks silence
on charges filed

Negros Oriental Board Member Arnolfo Teves Jr. yesterday asked why his name easily crops up as an alleged mastermind.

He asked the police if they have investigated the maltreatment of the arrested suspects in a case he did not identify, where one of them sustained injuries in the face.

The Liga ng mga Barangay president said he believes something fishy is going. “At first, they said the target was Gov. Roel Degamo, and then it was the bingo milyunaryo coordinator Mauricio Sioco,” he said.

He said he was surprised later when his name was dragged as the alleged mastermind in the foiled attempt on the life of Councilor Victoriano Alabastro, and called on the assigned prosecutor to determine if there was probable cause. He said that it could be a staged ambush or drama.

“Why it is that it’s always me, I did not even declare that I’m running for any position.  I cannot understand why the blame is all on me,” Teves said.*JG
