151 cops
tested for drugs

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz and 150 city policemen went through a surprise drug testing yesterday afternoon at the BCPO headquarters.

De la Paz said the urine samples of the policemen will be sent to the crime laboratory in Camp Crame in Metro Manila and those who test positive for illegal drug use will face administrative charges.

The results of the drug test are expected to be released next week, he said.

Among those who were tested were personnel from the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group, Investigation and Intelligence branches, the traffic management unit, special operations group and five each from the ten police stations, he also said.

In April this year, BCPO personnel also underwent drug tests and all of them negative of illegal drug use.

The drug test was initiated because of recent crime incidents involving policemen.*APN
