Gov turns over checks to
recipients of SEA-K

At least 155 beneficiaries under the Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran will benefit from the funding assistance.

Six of them are from La Libertad town, one from Tayasan, and four from Jimalud.

Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo recently turned over checks for P825,000 to beneficiaries of the SEA-K program in Negros Oriental.

The ceremony was witnessed by Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7 Director Nemia Antipala, and DSWD-7 Project Development Officer Rizalina Patindol.

DSWD had earlier given the checks to the governor to be turned over to the SEA-K recipients, Evelyn Catada, local DSWD Project Development Officer, said.

The funds aim to jumpstart the livelihood projects to be undertaken by the beneficiaries.

SEA-K is a national program implemented by DSWD to provide the poor and disadvantaged sector of the society with timely access to credit and development opportunities.

During the turnover ceremony, the governor encouraged the beneficiaries to maximize the financial help by counterparting it with hard work and the determination to succeed.*RG
