Charges for grave threats and physical injuries were filed against a Bacolod policeman by two Brgy. Bata residents before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.
The charges were filed against Police Officer 2 Sergio Sisles, 35, of Purok Bayabasan, Brgy. Bata, who is still detained, Station 3 chief, Insp. Jose Mulleta, said.
Aside from that, Mulleta said, they also filed a separate complaint for illegal discharge of firearms and illegal possession of ammunition against Sisles.
Complainant Lucy Lariosa, 47, of Purok Bayabasan, Barangay Bata, Bacolod, said Sisles went to her house at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday and was looking for the pig her husband slaughtered for a friend’s party. When he did not find what he was looking for, she said the policeman fired his gun at the pavement near the place where she was standing.
Trisikad driver John Sumayang, 29, of Purok Kamunsil, Brgy. Bata, also lodged a complaint against Siles claiming that the policeman allegedly drew his gun, pointed it at him and looked for his identification card and later pistol-whipped him.
Another complainant Romulo Prado, 44, of Purok Katilingban in Brgy. Bata, did not return yesterday for the filing of the case, Mulleta said.
Mulleta said he already forwarded an incident report to Senior Police Officer 3 Eddie Garcia and Senior Police Officer 2 Jovito Pastrana of the Bacolod City Police Office Investigation and Detective Management Branch for validation.
If they find merit in the case, administrative charges for grave misconduct may also be filed against Sisles, Mulleta added.*APN
