‘The Azkals Rock’

“The Azkals rock”

A group of teenagers among the jubilant crowd at the Panaad Sport Stadium last night shouted.

Jeremy, 17, an out-of-school youth said that Azkals made all Filipinos proud and more people will be watching and supporting them. He said even if he had to watch the game from outside the stadium, it does not matter as long as he got to see them play even from afar.

Couple, Marlyn and Richard, said they were really happy and proud that Philippines has started to earn a reputation in football and this is something the people should be proud of. However, they were disappointed about the tickets because they had to buy theirs from people selling them outside the stadium at overpriced rates.

Meanwhile, there were football fans who had tickets but were not able to get seats in the stadium and Romeo Santillan was one of them. He said he was waving his ticket to the persons manning the gate but he was ignored.

But instead of going home, he watched the game together with people outside. He said even if he was far from the field he was just happy that he personally witnessed the Azkals’ victory.

A mother said she had to accompany her daughters to the game because they were big fans of Phil and James Younghusbands. She said it was her first time to be shouting like her daughters every time Azkals would kick for goal.

Age did not matter and all the shouting paid off, because we won, the mother said.*LTG
