CARP beneficiaries installed;
told to honor gov’t obligations

The Department of Agrarian Reform officially installed 34 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries  in Hda. Dos Hermanos, Brgy. Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental, Wednesday, a DAR press release said.

The land was acquired by the government through the Voluntary Offer to Sell scheme of CARP, the press release said.

DAR officials led by MARO Jose Renato Defiño of Manapla, and PARO I Dr. Gideon Yongque Jr., police officers and soldiers joined the ARB installation.

The ARBs thanked the people who made the installation possible, the press release said.

Payment of land amortization and land taxes were emphasized on the ARBs by Yongque as one of their moral obligation being recipients of CARP.

The ARBs were also reminded not to enter into illegal transactions as this will result to perpetual disqualification from CARP benefits, the press release added.*
