Help sought for courts

A resolution requesting the Bacolod City government through the City Mayor’s Office to extend continuing counterpart fund support to significant city government courts, offices and units to ensure their uninterrupted use of communication facilities is being proposed by Councilor Sonya Verdeflor.

This includes the Regional Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Public Attorney’s Office, City Prosecutor’s Office, the Office of the Register of Deeds, Bacolod City Police Office-Women and Children Concern Desk, BCPO Legal Affairs Office, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Traffic Management Unit.

Verdeflor said residents of Bacolod City regularly transacting with these significant government offices need to communicate on a daily basis with them.

However, she has observed that during the middle of the year many of these offices have disconnected telephone lines because they had exhausted their budgets for communication services, she said.*CGS
