‘Azkals’ stick with RP XI
despite pro clubs offers

BAGUIO CITY -- Aly Borromeo and all other members of the Philippine "Azkals" national football team  yesterday pledged they will stay on despite the lure of professional clubs abroad.

During the "Kapehan sa Baguio," Borromeo revealed that he received one offer from Indonesia.

Borromeo also said the team has found their training in Benguet very fulfilling and successful.

‘Bata’ Reyes
remains unbeaten

MANILA --World billiards icon of the Philippines, Efren "Bata" Reyes, stopped countryman Dennis "Robocop" Orcollo, 7-5, in their group stage play to remain unbeaten in the on-going World 8-Ball Pool Championship 2011 at the Fujairah Exhibition Center in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, Tuesday.

"I hope to hold on to my momentum," said Reyes, who ruled the WPA World Pool Championships in Cardiff, Wales in 1999 and the WPA World 8-Ball Championships in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates in 2005.

NPBC RJ Stars pin down
game-high to stay on top

NPBC RJ Stars sprung a game-high 1,582 pinfalls to stay on top of the NSL organized 5-Man Team Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Averaging 1,510 balls per outing, the current topnotcher headed by Steve Po is now heading the 11-team cast with an eight-game output of 12,080 followed by NOHS All Stars piloted by Cesar Sumaylo and Iran Pielago with 12,056.Only 24 pins are separating the top two squads.

Carrying the NPBC shirt are Rowena Juarez, Po, Gil Villagante, Jam Morales, Buddy Ferrer, Edjie Balayo, Rey Gargar and Hernand Garciniego.
