Members of Task Force Kasaligan swooped down on a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation Monday afternoon at the coastal barangay of Looc, Dumaguete City’s most notorious area for drug peddling.
Initial police reports identified the suspect as Warlito Serat, 27, single, and believed to be a homosexual, and residing at Zone 3 in Looc.
Task Force Kasaligan operatives, led by assistant chief Miguel Dungog of the National Bureau of Investigation in Dumaguete, arrested Serat at around 3:30 p.m. Monday after a buy-bust operation.
Confiscated from the suspect was a plastic sachet containing white crystalline powder believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and P500 in marked money.
Police said Serat had been arrested previously for similar anti-illegal drug operations but was released due to technicalities.
Serat was then utilized as an asset of the Task Force until recently when it was reported that he had returned to his old trade.
He is now detained at the lock-up facility of the Dumaguete Police station pending the filing of criminal charges against him.*JFP
