Batch ’89 leads bowlfest

Batch ’89 took the curtain raiser of the Negros Occidental High School Inter-Class Alumni Fellowship Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang, Bacolod City.

The current topnotcher led by Rommel Niepes collected a three games output of 1,517 pinfalls to lead the 24-team pack event.

Class ’72 and Class ’73 occupied the second and third spots with 1,479 and 1,463 apiece, while Class ’71 is in close fourth with 1,421.

The other competitors with their corresponding scores: Batch  ’68, 1,413; Class ’66, 1,405; Class ’70, 1,405; Class ’59, 1,408; Class ’67, 1,403;  Class ’82, 1,396;  Class ’74, 1,381; Class ’85, 1,380; Class ’80, 1,352; Class ’90, 1,350; Class ’84, 1,323; Class ’58, 1,321; Class ’86, 1,301; Class ’65, 1,262; Class ’92, 1,256; Class ’95, 1,234; Class ’87, 1,194; Class ’88, 1,194; Class ’91, 1,186, and  Class ’75, 1,114.

Class ’89 also recorded the highest triple in the team competition with their 1,517, as Batch ’70 bet Joe Gonzales registered the individual highest single with 143.

Action will resume on Saturday starting at 5 p.m

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City National High School Inter-Class Alumni Bowlfest 2011 will start on Sunday, Jan.16 at the same venue, while St Joseph-La Salle will have their opening on Feb.5 at the Lopue’s East Bowling Centre in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.* HLG
