Probe on Cadiz cop ordered

Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, yesterday ordered an impartial investigations on claims that a policeman went wild and even a threatened an unarmed Army soldier in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The policeman, identified as PO2 Jovito Bacayo, who used to be assigned at the Cadiz City Police Station, however, vehemently denied that he had threatened Army Private First Class Edgar Curativo of his gun, during the weekend.

Guisihan said the allegations against Bacayo will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken against him, if evidences warrant,

He reiterated his warning against breach of discipline in the police force.

“Discipline is very important, once it is not observed in the PNP hierarchy, the establishment will crumble down” Guisihan stressed.

He also echoed the call of PNP chief Director General Raul Bacalzo that citizens must not only be served efficiently and effectively, “They must also be served with utmost courtesy”.

“The call for good manners and right conduct in policing remains and our commitment to this, should be stronger than ever.” Guisihan said.*GPB
