Ayungon National High School in Negros Oriental ranked number one in the 2010 National Achievement Tests Results in the Science learning areas nationwide, with 97.30 percent as Mean Percentage Score.
Another achiever for the NAT 2010 results was the Dauin Science High School that garnered 94.26 MPS and ranked fourth nationwide.
Gov. Roel Degamo said he is very proud of the achievement of the education sector of the province, which, he added, only proves it has the best teachers and strong support for the education sector.
Degamo said he was informed Friday about the Caravan for Excellence that will be held from Ayungon in the north and from Dauin in the southern part of the province.
The Caravan for Excellence will converge at the Capitol grounds where different activities will be held. Programs promoting science education will be held to encourage the students to strive hard, love their studies, and learn to focus.
Degamo said he still has to meet the members of the school board of the province to determine the programs and projects on education.
He admitted that there are many things needed to be done, but he is taking it one at a time and that he is also hoping for support from the education sector.
Degamo also emphasized the importance of education because more young people have been involved in illegal activities like drugs and other forms of vices.*MA
