Pagkaon scholars
hold gift-giving

The Negros Occidental Pagkaon scholars recently turned over books, bookshelves, and two comfort rooms to the Hacienda Maricalun Elementary School, Brgy. Maricalun, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Pagkaon scholarship coordinator Yolanda Bimbao said the project was a collaborative effort of alumni and in-school scholars of Pagkaon. This is their way of sharing the blessings they receive.

Maricalun Elementary School was identified as beneficiary for the gift-giving and sharing because of its need, Bimbao said.

The scholars organize themselves into an organization with the hope of promoting community and agricultural development.

They recently registered with the Security Exchange Commission with the name, “Progressive Agricultural Knowledge Advancement and Opportunities in Negros Incorporated.”

Raffy Tayson, president of the Pagkaon graduates core group said they hope to continue in expanding services to be able to contribute to the development of the Negros Occidental community.*LTG
