The Philippine Army has been holding pre-anniversary activities for the 25th anniversary of the 303rd Infantry Brigade in Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental today.
A blood-letting activity were conducted for soldiers and members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit and line units of the 303rd IB, a press release from the army said.
About 700 cc of various blood types collected was donated by the army to the Philippine Red Cross-Bacolod Chapter.
The soldiers, CAFGU’s and Police 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion also conducted a fun-run around Camp Major Nelson Gerona in Murcia Wednesday, the release said.
The 303rd IB also held a poster making and essay writing contest Saturday involving students at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Meanwhile the 33rd Civil Military Operations Company, 3rd CMO Battalion headed by 1Lt. Edlan Sumpay conducted a Peace and Development Training in Handumanan, Bacolod City Friday.
The medical mission was participated in by ABS-CBN Bantay Bata 163, Bacolod City Health Office, Provincial Health office, Adventist Medical Center, Our Lady of Mercy Specialty Hospital, Brgy. Council of Handumanan, Dr. Pablo O. Torre Foundation, Merci Bread and Pastries, Delta Company of the 12th Infantry Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Battalion and 303rd IB led by its commanding officer Col. Francisco Patrimonio.
About 572 beneficiaries received free circumcision, dental and medical services and consultation, haircut, Shiatsu massage, and availed of a feeding program.
Patrimonio said the medical mission was in line with the Armed Forces of the Philippine’s Peace and Security Plan Oplan Bayanihan that was as one of its objective to involve the different stakeholders in achieving a common goal.*CGS
