Bacoleño gets life for shabu

A Bacolod resident was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for the sale of shabu to a police poseur buyerin a buy-bust operation in 2004.

Bacolod Regional Trial Court Judge Edgar Garvilles sentencedClint Pedrosa Agsam of Purok Avocado, Barangay 20, Bacolod City, to life imprisonment for the sale of 0.03 gram for P100 in marked money on Jan. 30, 2004 in Criminal Case No. 04-25936.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000.

Garvilles also sentenced Agsam to a prison termof six months and one day to three years and to pay a fine of P10,000 for possession of drug paraphernalia identified as a tooter, and lighter with needle intended for ingesting shabu, in Criminal Case No. 04-25935 .

Agsam’s prompt commitment to the national penitentiary was also ordered.

The judge noted that Agsam was facing several other cases for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Law when he was arrested.

Agsam was caught in flagrante delicto in a legitimate police entrapment operation, the judge also said.*CPG
