Organic gets back at Basecom,
shares Class B lead in Fil-Sino

Organic Solutions came from behind to beat Basecom, 76-73, while AACI Transport dumped Aboy’s Restaurant, 91-84, in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Organic Solutions was able to avenge their first round defeat and tied Basecom atop the standings in Class B with five wins and two losses.

Basecom took a 20-point lead in the third quarter and maintained a 61-48 advantage going to the final chapter.

But Julius Teruel and Jordan Chua of Organic combined to keep Basecom within striking distance and finally grabbed the lead at 73-71 on teammate Ton Ton Chua’s back-to-back treys.

A layup by Michael Miranda tied the game for Basecom, but Jordan Chua unleashed three straight points to seal the victory for Organic.

Basecom had several chances to tie the game but missed on their three-point attempts.

Teruel topscored for Organic with 22 points, Ton Ton Chua added 16 points, Cris Vargas picked up 13 points and Jordan Chua had 8 points.

Edward Uy paced Basecom with  17 points, Luigi Coo collected  14 points, Clarence Quingco collected contributed 12 points, Michael Miranda, Arian Chua and Arvin Chua with 7 points each.

In the other game, AACI Transport rolled to its third straight win to enter the semifinals in Class A.

Stanley Bontigao spearheaded the Transport offense with 22 points while Zoey Pandan led Aboy’s with  20 points.*with a report from Stephen Tan
