Oil prices increase
more than P1 a liter‏

Oil firms raised diesel prices by P1.50 per liter, P1.25 per liter for kerosene and P1 per liter for gasoline effective 6 a.m. yesterday.

Chevron, Pilipinas Shell and Eastern Petroleum said they raised prices "to reflect the movement of international oil prices."

Other oil companies are expected to follow suit.

Task force seizes
processed meat

The Negros Occidental Provincial Foot and Mouth Disease Task Force confiscated 40 kilograms, or P20,000 worth of processed frozen meat, Monday, Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Renante Decena, said yesterday.

The processed frozen meat was confiscated at around 4 p.m. at the Banago Port, in Bacolod City by the task force officers Julius Lapore, John Luel Mirasol, and Belen Alvarez for lack of shipping permit and National Meat Inspection Service certificate.
