Golez  pushing
for 2 flyovers

Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez Jr. yesterday said that if Bacolod City will not get two flyovers as originally planned, they will make the Department of Public Works and Highways answerable for any changes it will make.

Golez, however, said in an interview over Aksyon Radyo that he has not received any communication from the DPWH regarding the second flyover at the moment.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson, during his recent visit to the city, said there is only one flyover scheduled to be constructed in Bacolod as of now. He shook his head when asked by the media if there will be a second flyover for Bacolod.

Asked for his reaction, Golez said “Let us wait and see. I would understand the sentiment of Singson because there are several sentiments regarding the flyover.” It divides the city as a matter of fact, instead of uniting the city towards more progress, he said.

Golez said he will stand firm that Bacolod will have two flyovers despite Singson’s statement, unless there were changes done. But as of now, that DPWH has not communicated with his office regarding the second flyover, he said.*CGS
