Montelibano-Coscolluela tandem
wins in Sugar Tee golf tournament

Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano and partner Boom Coscolluela ruled in Division II gross category of the 17th Sugar Tee Golf Tournament to win their second championship in the annual golf competition at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club.

The duo, who claimed the 2009 low gross title, shot 75 (37-38) on first day then followed it up with an 81 (39-42) on Sunday for a runaway victory.

In centerpiece Group A division, Lito Jison and Ombre Hamsirani conquered the tricky course of the NOGCC despite the strong winds and scattered rain showers, to bring home the over-all championship crown.

Jison and Hamsirani scored 160 points to dominate the field.

Kim Min Jin and Deo Aguinaldo scored 150 points for the Class A championship, to frustrate last year titlists Buddy Boy Jison and Gen. Rey Velasco, who settled for runner-up honors with 149 points.

Iggy Clavecilla and his new partner Francis Gaston grabbed the Class A gross with 134 points, while Bebot Locsin and Robert Go topped the Group B with 158 points.

In Group C, Dennis Coo and Richard Dalao won the championship as they scored 159, a point ahead of runner-up Kim Hong Ki and Park Kil Soo, who shot 158 points.

Paul Rizzo and Lemuel Jucaban topped the Group C Gross with 82 points.

Organized and co-hosted by the NOGCC, Bacolod Golf and Country Club and Victorias Golf and Country Club, the event was bankrolled by its major sponsors: the City of Bacolod headed by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Directories Philippines Corporation, PAGCOR, First Tee Inc.;

Dynamics Sports Corp., Pacsports Philippines Inc., Security Bank and Trust Company, Philippine Sports Commission, United Coconut Planters Bank, Victorias Milling Company, 3rd District Cong. Albee Bantug Benitez, Sunrisers, Rudy Project and PEPSI.*NAB
