Silverado takes lead
in Sharp bowling tilt

Silverado I/ASSFBI won in the opening of the Class A division of the Sharp Phils. Open Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Candles/Alimon Steel and Davies Fusion led in the non-rated and women’s category.

Cecil Silverio’s group composed of  Norman Pineda, Ronald Fernandez and Nonoy Gatila had a game-high 1,055 pinfalls to lead the 8-team pack in the Class A division.

Basketball tournament
opens in EB Magalona

The 4th Mayor David Albert R. Lacson Basketball Cup opened March 19 at the Wilkinson Social Court in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Sixteen out of the 23 barangays in the town are joining the competition designed to tap the participation of Sangguniang Kabataan officers and members, or youth below 21 years old.

Joining the tournament on the theme “One Dream…One Spirit…One Game,” are barangays Pasil, Alicante, Manta-angan, Batea, Damgo, II-Poblacion, Tabigue, I-Poblacion, Tanza, San Jose, Sto. Nino, Tuburan, Tomongtong, Alacaygan, Madalag and Gahit.

Nietes visits TV shows  
to promote Apr 9 fight

WBO Minimum Weight World Champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes took time out from his busy training schedule to hang out with ABS-CBN's primetime stars at the highly rated mid-day program “Showtime”, and the highest rated morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” of the television network ABS-CBN.

At the famous morning show, Nietes invited all the television viewers nationwide to support his April 9 bout where he headlines ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports' Pinoy Pride 5: Battle of Champions.

The snake man was interviewed by celebrity hosts Rico J. Puno, Donito Rose, Venus Raj, Plinky Webb and Alex Santos.
