The Negros Occidental provincial government is planning to recover a 15-hectare property adjacent to the Mambukal Resort in Murcia, Negros Occidental, where farm lots were sold to Capitol employees, Gov. Alfredo Marañon said yesterday.
The lot owners have agreed to swap their property in Minoyan, Murcia, for property closer to Bacolod City, he said.
There are 158 Capitol employees who own farm lots on the 15-hectare property and only a few have built structures there so far, he said.
The provincial government plans to use the 15-hectare property for the expansion of the Mambukal Resort, he said.
Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan heads the committee holding dialogs with the lot owners, he said.
Pinongan said the property being eyed for swapping that is yet to be purchased by the provincial government is near the Paglaum Village in Bacolod City.
He, however, said the size of the property and its cost has yet to be determined.*CPG
