biz confab awarding

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia has been invited by the chairman emeritus of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the awarding ceremony of the 37th Philippine Business Conference and Expo at the Manila Hotel Thursday.

In his letter to Leonardia dated October 5, 2011, Miguel Varela thanked the mayor for coming to the 2011 Most Business-Friendly LGU Awards search for city, level-1 category.

“We hope your participation in this award search has contributed to increasing business competitiveness and efficiency to Bacolod City,” he said.

Varela, 37th PBC Award chairman, said the conferment of the award will be held during the 37th Business Conference and Expo on October 12-14 in Manila.

He said they have invited President Benigno Aquino III as the guest of honor to the occasion and to confer the award to the LGU winner. The awarding ceremonies are tentatively scheduled on Thursday at 4 p.m. when the award winners will be announced, he added.

Bacolod City had been chosen as the Most Business Friendly City in the Visayas in 2006 and 2007.
