Ginebra Kings to hold
coaches clinic at WNU

Basketball development program in Negros Occidental gets a boost this Saturday when the Ginebra Kings holds a coaches clinic at the West Negros University Gym.

Interested basketball coaches in Bacolod City and neighboring areas are encouraged to join in the activity and are advised to get in touch with the WNU Sport Office for details.

Ginebra Kings will be in Bacolod City this weekend for an official PBA game against the Powerade Tigers in Victorias City, Saturday, at 6:45 p.m.

The Kings are expected to bounce back from its 75-88 loss on October 14 against Barako Bulls, while the Tigers hope to notch another win in the 2011-12 PBA Philippine Cup after taming Alaska Aces, 79-67, last Sunday.

To get past the Tigers, the Kings need to neutralize Gary David, who’s been steering his team to big wins.

Against the Aces, David scored 26 points as he carried the Tigers to a second win in three games this season.

Ginebra, on the other hand, will have to rely on Mark Caguioa to once again deliver the necessary points as the Kings seeks its second win in the tournament.

Barangay Ginebra, PBA’s most popular ball club, nailed down its first win against Alaska Aces, 83-72.

Coach Siot Tanquingcen has been fine-tuning his team and has expressed hopes that they will not deviate from the game place as the competition heats up this season in the PBA.*NAB
