Banana bud blossoms
long after stalks cut
A five-inch banana bud, or “puso ng saging” was found blossoming in the piles of cut and seemingly dead banana stalks in Purok Hallowblocks, Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
The rare case of banana bud growing after its stalk was cut off about a month ago was found in the backyard of Ronald Fernandez.
Fernandez said that he noticed the bud early yesterday morning and was surprised to see it fully grown and showing some changes late afternoon yesterday.
