Victorias passes away

Former Victorias City Mayor Remedios “Idiong” Palanca Bantug, 92, succumbed to a heart attack at the Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City at 4 p.m. Sunday, her son Reynaldo Bantug said yesterday.

Bantug had suffered a third stroke and was brought to the hospital Saturday where she had a heart attack the next day, he said.

His mother lived her life to the fullest and was a selfless others-oriented person, Bantug said.

“She leaves behind footprints of unmistakable kindness, hard work and a legacy of love,” he said.

She is survived by her children Mita, Vicky, Rey and Cynthia.
