Aussie 5 sets friendly games

The Sports Ambassadors Australian Basketball Team from Perth, Western Australia, in cooperation with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be in  Negros  tomorrow until January 11.

Pastor Gary Visitacion, national sports director of Sports Ambassadors Philippines, said “We are looking forward to come and visit Negros province this coming January 2012. We know  the Negrenses are very warm people and we are excited to play basketball with the  collegiate  and barangay teams in the area,” a press release from organizers said.

The Australia basketball team will play the Dumaguete City Selection team tomorrow, 6 p.m. at the Dumaguete City Public Plaza.

On January 5, they will play against the Negros Oriental State University squad at 3 p.m., then the Silliman University squad at 6 p.m.

On January 6, they will be in Amlan town and on January 7, in Bacong, Dumaguete City, the press release said.

On January 9, they will distribute some food items in Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental and on January 10, will proceed to La Carlota City for the game at 4 p.m. at the La Carlota City public plaza.

Their final game will be in Himamaylan City on January 11, at 10 a.m.

Himamaylan City Mayor Agustin Ernesto Bascon, with the assistance of the Negros Basketball Association president, Oscar Bascon, has prepared a warm welcome for the visiting team, the press release also said.

The team captain is Giles Creelman, with Danny Cook, Conan Prince, Fletcher Creelman, Michael Valenti, Steve Cressie, Hedley Taylor, Andrew Stock, and  Visitacion.
