A 60-year-old man was killed allegedly by his own son in Ilog, while the quarrel of siblings led to the death of one of them in Binalbagan, all in Negros Occidental, on Jan 10 and 11, police records show.
Russel Damayon, 21, who is reportedly suffering from a nervous breakdown, allegedly clubbed to death his father, Rodrigo,60, Wednesday at their residence in Brgy. Tabu, Ilog, town police chief Senior Inspector Joshua Villasis said.
Villasis yesterday said Damayon hit his father, who was sleeping, with a water pipe in the head and back several times, without any reason or provocation.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Kabankalan City.
Villasis said Damayon, who was allegedly a victim of maltreatment by his father, was arrested by members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team members, who turned him over to the Ilog Police Station.
Parricide charges are being mulled by the victim’s family against the suspect, who was still locked up in jail, as of yesterday.
Meanwhile, a quarrel among siblings on Tuesday night also led to the death of Nixon Nagrama, 32, in Brgy. Payao, Binalbagan, police said.
Inspector Albert Sy, Binalbagan police chief, said a heated argument arose between Nagrama and his younger brother, Gualberto Jr., when they were about to eat their dinner.
Sy said Nixon punched his brother, who retaliated by stabbing him in the chest with a fan knife.
He was declared dead on arrival at the Ignacio Arroyo Sr. Memorial Hospital in in Isabela, while Gualberto was arrested by the police.*GPB back
