frustrated on FLUP

The failure of local government units in Negros Oriental to adopt and implement the recommendations in their Forest Land Use Plan has led Regional Technical director Dr. Isabelo Montejo of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to express his frustrations with them.

Montejo said Tanjay City is among the local government units in Negros Oriental that passed the FLUP and one of the recipients of assistance from the United States Agency for International Development.

Unfortunately, he said, it failed to adopt and implement the recommendations stated in the FLUP to manage the forests and the community inhabiting the FLUP- covered area.

‘Cory ng Edsa’ musical on

The Philippine Stagers Foundation and the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation is presenting a Filipino Musicale entitled “Cory ng Edsa” until tomorrow at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex and Negros Oriental Convention Center in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The complete 50- member cast of the “Cory ng Edsa” arrived in Dumaguete with their Director Vincent Tanada.

This is an original Filipino musicale written and inspired by the spirit of democracy and heroism by Tanada.
