Batch ‘89 and Class ’73 took the opening round of the Negros Occidental High School General Alumni Homecoming Inter-Class Bowlfest For Unity 2012 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Led by Roniela Cordero, Batch ’89 registered a three-game output of 1,526, while the Edwin Dormitorio and Narciso Bolinas-led Class ’73 was with 1,514 pinfalls.

Completing the top four teams are the Class ’66 group of Edgar Baldonado and the Ruby Barbosa-led Batch ’84, with 1,480 and 1,460 pinfalls.

Class ’67 headed by Enrique “King” Tan was fifth with 1,437.

The other squads and their scores are Batch ’83, 1,423; Class ’82, 1,418; Class ’68, 1,410; Class ’85, 1,395; Class ’65, 1,389; Class ’71, 1,384; Class ’74, 1,375; Batch ’90, 1,359; Class 54/56/59 Combined, 1,357; Team ’67, 1,344; Class ’97, 1,340; Class ’70, 1,339; Class ’58, 1,330; Batch 2000-up, 1,330; Class ’80, 1,319; Batch ’92, 1,319; Class ’91, 1,318; Class ’77, 1,295; 75 Sec., 1,269; Class ’62, 1,265; Class ’95, 1,250; Class ’88, 1,240; Class ’75, 1,216; Class ’87, 1,213, and Batch ’98, 1198.

The elimination phase is a six-round competition, where the participating squads will be bracketed into three categories to vie for the title in the Class A, B and C dvisions.

The championship rounds will start on February 25.

Meanwhile, selected players from bowling clubs in Bacolod City will participate in the two-day 10th DUBAI Dinagyang Open Trio Bowling Tournament Saturday at the St. Elizabeth Bowling Alleys in Valeria Street, Iloilo City.

Dubbed “2nd Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog Cup,” the event offers cash prizes and trophies to the winners in the men and women’s division.

The tournament is a six-game series where the top three teams in two categories will vie for the title in an up-the-ladder system to determine the champion.

The Negros–Bacolod teams are composed of Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers, Inc./Silverado/Mulo Car Aircon/Amor, Negros Professional Bowlers Club/LJP Trading/RJ Stars, Sharp, Kami Mga Hubin Bowling Club, Davies, Tiger Eye, Condura ASSFBI Ladies, among others.
