PBA legends to train 5
Negrense basketeers

Five young basketball players from the cities of Bago, Bacolod, and the town of Valladolid are joining a training camp in Manila under the supervision of basketball legends Alvin Patrimonio, Benjie Paras, Jerry Codiñera, Johnny Abarrientos, Jojo Lastimosa, and Ronie Magsanoc.

The five players are Bagoeños Sachiko Joy Cabigon and Joselito Dayoi, Bacoleños Ronnie Keith Oriola and Stephen Cedric Dela Torre, and Michael Angelo Cariaga of Valladolid .

They were chosen from a pool of players who joined the Alaxan FR sponsored local leg of the “Galing Mo Camp” held in the Court of Inspiration in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City .

The five Negrense basketeers will train with the PBA legends from April 16 to 19 at the Unilab Gym in Metro Manila along with the other hopefuls from various parts of the country, who have set their sights on claiming the top honors in the camp.

From among the 50 participants, 10 top players will be chosen, based on their skills and their attitudes. The winners will receive P20,000 each from Alaxan FR and P100,000 worth of infrastructure project that will be implemented in their home barangay.

The Galing Mo Camp is a continuation of the company's nationwide advocacy to promote a culture of hard work and dedication. Last year, the same advocacy led to the construction of the “Court of Inspiration” by local volunteers in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City .

The court was inaugurated by PBA legends Paras, Magsanoc, and Codiñera, who also played a friendly three-on-three basketball game with the volunteers.

The three veteran basketball players also shared their experience during their struggling years as athletes.

They encouraged all aspiring basketball players to focus on their chosen sport as it requires discipline, hard work, and determination.*NAB
