Negrense basketeers

Five young basketball players from the cities of Bago, Bacolod, and the town of Valladolid are joining a training camp in Manila under the supervision of basketball legends Alvin Patrimonio, Benjie Paras, Jerry Codiñera, Johnny Abarrientos, Jojo Lastimosa, and Ronie Magsanoc.

The five players are Bagoeños Sachiko Joy Cabigon and Joselito Dayoi, Bacoleños Ronnie Keith Oriola and Stephen Cedric Dela Torre, and Michael Angelo Cariaga of Valladolid .

They were chosen from a pool of players who joined the Alaxan FR sponsored local leg of the “Galing Mo Camp” held in the Court of Inspiration in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City .

ASSFBI/Silverado wins
BCNHS bowling crown

Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc./Silverado was champion in the 2 nd Team Pirates '85 Bacolod City National High School Non-rated Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City recently.

ASSFBI, composed of Cecil Silverio, Rey Boy, Cesar Sumaylo, and Joan Genolos, downplayed Davies, represented by Romel Jover, Iran Pielago, Essho Garcia and Edgar Jerez in their first game, 345-333 and 339-328 to win the top prize.

The champion squad qualified for the finals against Davies by winning over RJ & B Team in the semi-finals, 332-321.

USLS to host
basketball camp

The University of St. La Salle will host the CP EDGE Basketball Clinic of coach Ricky Magallanes for players in elementary, middle, secondary and college levels from April 8-12, a press release from USLS said.

The five-day basketball program will be held at the USLS College Covered Court, from 6 to 8:30 a.m. for college players, and at the High School Covered Court, 1 to 3 p.m. for 12 under players, and 4 to 6:30 p.m. for aspirants, juniors and above 12 players.

Basketball trainings focused on the fun-damentals of the game will be given by Lasallian alumnus coach Ricky Magallanes, founder and director of the Edge Basketball Sports Management and Training in the United States, and currently the basketball director and program manager of Saigon Sports Academy and National Team in Vietnam, the press release said.
