NORECO 2 plans increase
in members’ capital share
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Negros Oriental 2 Electric Cooperative will ask consumer-members to increase their subscription and capital share with the cooperative so it can extend its services and benefits.

NORECO 2 Member Services department manager, Leovigildo Elmaco, said this will be discussed at their 34th general assembly on April 14 at the Pamplona gymnasium in Negros Oriental.

He said this is aimed at enhancing the capital build-up of the cooperative and will ask consumer-members for additional subscription at an amount to be decided and approved by the members at the assembly.

Comelec opens demo center
for PCOS machines in R7

The Commission on Elections in Region 7 has opened a demonstration center for the use of the Precinct Count Optical Scan, or PCOS, machines at SM City, Cebu.

The Comelec PCOS demonstration center will remain at the mall until April 30 and is part of its voter education drive.

Election officer Bernard de los Reyes said people who go to the mall may try using the machines. He said one problem observed in the last elections involved the elderly with poor eyesight, who have difficulties shading the oval near a candidate’s name.
