Marine camp set for kids

The marine camp for children will be conducted soon by the Museo sang Bata sa Negros in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, and those aged 9 to 13 years old, who know how to swim, are invited to join, a press release from the museo said.

The 4-day and 3-night camp aims to have children experience the wonderful underwater world, understand the causes and effects of climate change, discover and appreciate marine biodiversity and learn about mammals, corals, mangroves, and sea stars, the press release also said.

Deadline for registration is April 26. The activity is in cooperation with the Sagay Marine Reserve Department, and camp fee is P5,000 each, inclusive of meals, snacks, accommodations and roundtrip travel from Bacolod to Sagay.

Summer activities slated

Summer fun-filled happenings for adults, children and pets will be conducted at SM City Bacolod and Iloilo malls, a press release from the mall said.

The fitness dance workout is free from 6 p.m. onwards Thursdays and Fridays of April and May at the new transport hub in SM Bacolod, and taebo dance sessions Mondays and Wednesdays of April, at the elevated parking area in Iloilo, the press release also said.

Other activities are art and craft workshop for children aged 3 years old and above. The “Art Attack” will be conducted April 15 to May 17, 2-4 p.m. in Bacolod, with activities like painting, puppeteering and balloon twisting, magic tricks, face and nail art, creative gift-wrapping and origami; and in Iloilo, basic and advanced art classes will be held April 15 to May 3, and May 6-24, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where participants will be taught sketching and drawing with pencil and charcoal, poster-making, calligraphy, T-shirt printing, terracotta and oil painting, the press release also said.

There will also singing, dancing and acting workshops for kids; sports clinic for chess, table tennis and arnis; cooking demonstration; and a day camp for dogs, April 20 at 2 p.m. at SM Bacolod, the press release said.
