A satellite office of the Social Security System may soon be established in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.
This was after the Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a resolution authored by Councilor Dan Aurelia, asking the SSS to bring its services closer to the community.
SSS Dumaguete manager Lelani Benedian said are waiting for final approval of their Manila office for the establishment of the satellite office. The Bayawan City government, under Mayor Rene Gaudiel, had offered a space where it can be situated.
She added that they had conducted a five-day mobile e-Center in Bayawan recently, as requested by residents and officials of the city and nearby Sta. Catalina and Basay towns, and more than 4,000 transactions were accommodated.
These included initial registration, complaints, data changes requests, employers report, maternity, pension and disability claims, inquiries and verifications, she added.*JG
