2 cops tested for drug use

Two members of Police Station 1 occupying the room at the ground floor of the Bacolod City Hall where a fire broke out were tested for drugs last week, City Police officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel, said yesterday.

Ordaniel said the results of the drug tests of the two policemen are yet to be released by the crime laboratory.

He said the two policemen, whose names he withheld, were made to undergo drug tests because of insinuations that the room could have been used for pot sessions.

Ordaniel said that if their drug tests results are positive, they will be meted appropriate penalties, or worst, be removed from the service.

Ronilo Capitle, 21, of Mabini-Corral, Bacolod City, a member of the Public Order Safety Office, and detailed as guard at the City Hall, said he saw a policeman and three other men in plain clothes leaving the room before the fire broke out at about 7 p.m. Thursday last week.

Investigation showed that the policemen had vacated the room one month ago, since most of them had been assigned as members of the Trackers Team Ordaniel had formed.*APN
