Koi and Kitkat tie the knot
The Barangay sang Birhen Church at the Santa Clara Subdivision in Bacolod City was the setting of the “nature-based” wedding of Anna Katrina Lacson Leonardia, “Kitkat” to relative and friends, where she said “I do” to debonaire Karlo “Koi” Valenzuela of Manila and Roxas City.
The ceremony, officiated by Fr. Miguel Perey, was an intimate one but also solemn and fun. Church decoration was done with simple arrangements of local weeds and leaves, and the bride and groom had advised their guests and folks to come in comfortable wear, considering the weather these days.
The bride is the daughter of the late Andres “Andy” and Margarita “Meg” Lacson Leonardia, while the groom's parents are Jing and Carol Papa Valenzuela.
The three supportive and loving brothers of Kitkat, an only daughter, took turns in giving her away to her waiting groom, who could not hide his misty eyes as his bride-to-be approached.
The church was full of relatives and close friends of both families, the Valenzuelas and Papas, the Lacsons and Leonardias, who all came in full force. The principal sponsors were all titos and titas of the couple – Bacolod Mayor Bing Leonardia, Recto Jose Isada, Carmela Papa, Aurelio Valenzuela, Ma. Soledad Lacson, Victoria Lacson Labayen and Maria Nora Lacson.
The secondary sponsors were, for candle – Miko Leonardia and Marie Nazareno, for veil – Johann Leonardia and Pucci Valenzuela, and for cord – Carlo Leonardia and Trina Flores.
The best man was Chris Valenzuela and maid of honor was Marni Lacson. Bridesmaids were Kaila Trebol, Ella Abaya, Joanna Walsh, and Erika Nazareno.
Groomsmen were Joebert Leonardia, Paolo Papa and Kevin Papa. The ring bearer was Kayin Flores, Bible bearer – Diego Leonardia, coin bearer – Iker Leonardia, and flower girls were Kaila Flores and Reese Leonardia with Bubbles girls – Mariella Suarez and Solenne Leonardia.
Reception at the Nature's Village in Talisay featured twinkling lights, a sumptuous, typical Negrense buffet, and a band supplying danceable music all night long.
Later, hot air balloons were sent up towards the moonlit sky by Koi and Kitkat in memory of her mama and papa, who must be watching the event proudly up there.
Kitkat and Koi: God bless, and may you enjoy always your life together!*
Remember: Transform and humbly practice these to your neighbor.
