The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will design a new Pre Departure Orientation Seminar for Filipinos bound for work abroad, the Department of Labor and Employment said in a press release.
The PDOS will focus on values and history, the DOLE said.
Our overseas workers are the best asset that we have outside our shores. They are our ambassadors of goodwill and, therefore, they should act, and be ready to act as such, wherever they are in the world, Baldoz said.
OWWA will develop the module in consultation with the Department of Foreign Affairs, she also said.
The DOLE will later require PDOS providers to use the module as a mandatory subject of their outputs Baldoz said.
She also said that the initiative is aimed to help OFWs be professionals in all their ways, like in the way they dress, talk, and conduct themselves in public by being aware that they represent our country and the country.*
