For the fourth consecutive year, Cadiz City was again declared the top grossing local government unit with total sales of P881,124 at the trade fair and exhibit of the Technology and Livelihood Development Center of the 20 th Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, Sunday.
The Cadiz delegation received P50,000 and a trophy.
San Carlos City and the towns of Calatrava and Moises Padilla were the three top grossers after Cadiz City, with total sales of P488,520, P346,424, and P124,620, respectively.
VMC inks deal with UP alumni
The University of the Philippines Chemistry Alumni Foundation Inc. and the Victorias Milling Co. recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement where experts from U.P. will work with VMC to further improve its manufacturing operations through a waste minimization and a cleaner production project, a press release from the company said.
The initiative will reduce wastage of VMC's vital resources, such as water and promote environmental protection, the mill said.*
'Magic sugar' allowed with
The Food and Drug Administration will allow the use of "magic sugar" in the country, acting FDA director Kenneth Hartigan-Go said yesterday.
It also follows that the Bureau of Food and Drugs Advisory No. 2000-05 will be revoked.
“All those selling this product are ordered to apply for market authorizations from the FDA to ensure proper label and safe use of the product,” Hartigan-Go said.
