Outreach held in Sipalay

A summer outreach program was conducted recently at Sitio Bocana, Barangay Nauhang in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, by the Charlie Company of the 605 Community Defense Center, under the supervision of LTC Nelson Trujillo, a military press release said.

The activity included a feeding program, book reading and storytelling, that benefited around 50 children.

It was headed by Lt. Romeo Quingking and 1 st Sergeant Nathaniel Jan Celiz, and participated in by students from the Holy Rosary Academy, led by Patricia Nicole Balbin; the Radio Natin Club, led by Sgt. Claudio Bacatan; and the ROTC Unit of the Negros State College of Agriculture-Sipalay, headed by Sgt Jeonilo Orbigoso, the press release also said.

The outreach program, that will be conducted for the whole summer, aims to complement the mission of both the civil and military authorities in Negros Occidental to win the peace, not through conventional war, but through projects and bayanihan.*
