NCMB confab starts today

The National Conciliation and Mediation Board-Regional Branch 6 and its labor-management partners will hold the 8th Regional Convention for Western Visayas LMC at the Casa Pilar Beach Resort in Boracay, Aklan today and tomorrow, a press release from the NCMB said.

Partners for the event are the Association of Labor and Management Councils-Negros Occidental Chapter Inc., Association of Industrial Peace Advocates of Negros Occidental, Labor-Management Councils- Panay and Guimaras Chapter Inc. and the Labor-Management Peace Advocates for Private Schools of Panay and Guimaras, the press release said.

More than 100 representatives from 35 unionized and non-unionized companies, members and non-members of the associations are expected to attend.

Labor Secretary Rosalind Baldoz will speak on Sustaining Global Competitiveness, National Development and Growth while Reynaldo Ubaldo, NCMB Executive Director IV, will talk on Global Competitiveness Beyond Conflicts, the press release said.

Other speakers are Sherlock Codilla, PHILAMCOP president and PASAR AVP-Human Resource Gabriel Tagala, Director, Human Resource of Universal Robina Corporation, AIG, Josephus Jimenez, former DOLE Under Secretary for Labor Relations, and Allan Montaño, Commissioner, Tripartite Voluntary Arbitration Advisory Council and p resident emeritus of the Federation of Free Workers, the press release also said.*
