PBA Youngstars tourney
unfolds at WNU today

Ten teams from Bacolod City-based ball clubs will vie for the provincial championship as the 2nd Coca-Cola PBA Youngstars – Bacolod Leg opens today and will run until May 7 at the West Negros University Gym.

The champion team will earn the right to represent Bacolod City and Negros Occidental in the regional finals set May 10-12, while the regional champion will play in the national finals in Manila on May 19-26, a press release from WNU said.

Challenging defending champion University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos are Pony Basketball, Team Tangub Christian Academy, St. John’s Institute Baby Falcons, University of St. La Salle Baby Stingers, Bacolod Tay Tung High School Tunderbolts, Mansilingan Christian Academy Eagles, Big Shot for Jesus of Bacolod Christian College of Negros, and The Legend and host West Negros University Baby Mustangs.

The teams will be divided into two groups and will play in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the crossover semifinals with the top two teams playing for the championship.*
