 summer bowlfest title

Bago City Strikers beat Suppliers, 339-331, in the final game to claim the championship of the Class 85 Non-rated Summer Bowlfest 2013 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The champion team, composed of Joel Basiao, Gap Penafiel, Cano Gaudite and Ricky Zamora, earned a twice-to-beat advantage going into the final match.

First runner-up was the Suppliers team composed of Otoy Jardio, Karl Barbosa, Reymund Lopez and Rommel Agupitan.

Suppliers defeated Davies Team of Romel Jover and Edgar Jerez in the quarterfinals, 319-315, while the latter beat RJ Stars/NPBC of Rowena Juarez to advance to the next round.

The Suppliers was the tournament’s highest single record holder with 368 pinfalls.

In the individual contest, Toto Flores of Davies I had the highest pinning mark with 94, while Zamora of Bago Strikers and Redel of Tanduay the highest triple and single with 373 and 157, respectively.

Zamora was top qualifier in the top 10 list.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Bacolod City National High School Class ’85 Non-rated Bowling Spectacle will open April 30, followed by 4th Triangular Inter-school Bowlfest For Unity 2013 on May 12 at the same venue.
