NCMB awards set Thursday

The National Conciliation and Mediation Board-Regional Branch 6 will hold an awarding ceremony for  the 2013 Best Practices Awards and the Signing of Memorandum of Agreement to be held at Amigo Terrace Hotel, Iloilo City Thursday, its press release said.

The honorary awards are for:  2013 Outstanding Labor-Management Councils/Committees for Industrial Peace (organized and unorganized categories), Best Enterprise-Based Dispute Resolution Practices and Outstanding Accredited Voluntary Arbitrator.

The awards were carried out by the (NCMB)  with the Philippine League of Labor-Management Cooperation Practitioners, Inc.,  the national association of Labor-Management practitioners in the country (for the Outstanding LMC awards) and the Tripartite Voluntary Arbitration Advisory Council (for the Best Enterprise-Based Dispute Resolution Practices and Outstanding AVAs), the press release said.

It  was launched in March  and started accepting nominations in April at the NCMB regional branches.

The regional screenings were conducted  in  July  both in Bacolod and Iloilo.

The national screening and selection processes will start this month  up to September  and the awarding of  national winners will be held during the LMC National Convention in November, the press release said.

The Regional Screening Committee constituted at the 16  Regional Branches of the board  manages  the screening and selection at the regional level among applicants and nominees to the search.

The finalists for the 2013 Outstanding Labor-Management Councils/Committees for Industrial Peace are San Miguel Beer Bacolod Brewery-Paghili-usa (organized category) and John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Molo), Inc. (unorganized category), the press release said.

The SMBBB also qualified for the 2013 Best Enterprise-Based Dispute Resolution Practices, it added.

The finalists for the 2013 Outstanding Accredited Voluntary Arbitrator  are  Von Lovel  Bedona,  Jose  Lapak, Jr. and  Mateo Valenzuela.*
