Around 75 department heads and other key officials of Negros Oriental convened in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, to work on the 2014-2016 executive-legislative agenda of the province until Saturday.
The activity aims to identify priority programs and projects of the province for the next three years and to synchronize these between the executive and legislative branches.
Governor Roel Degamo, Vice Governor Mark Macias, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, department heads, division, unit and section heads, representatives from the Department of Education and the Philippine National Police are among the participants in the gathering.
The formulation of the executive-legislative agenda is held outside of the province to ensure complete attendance of the participants since, in the past, some officials would only attend the first and second days and not return for the final output.
The agenda aims to bring together a cohesive working relationship between branches of the provincial government, and to avoid unnecessary disagreements, deliberations and other setbacks that would slow down the implementation of priority programs and projects.
The governor’s office will consolidate the results of the deliberations and submit the final output to the SP and the Provincial Development Council for adoption.*JFP
