NOHS sets new record in
Inter-School bowlfest

Negros Occidental High School strengthened its bid for the top prize and set new records in the individual and team competition of the 1st Edition of Inter-school Friendship Cup 2013 at the Negros Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Eight overall at the start, the NOHS Pinbusters headed by Romel Jover, scored 1,733 points to grab the No.1 spot with a total score of 3,238, sending leader BCNHS 89 to third with only 3,139.

NOHS also made a new mark in the team single and triple with 619 and 1,733 eclipsing the old mark of 586 and 1,648 established by BCNHS Boysen in the first day of action.

Its anchorman Felipe Boy Romero Jr. also registered a new record in the individual contest with his 146 and 402 points in single and triple erasing BCHS Norman Pineda and Toto Flores of NOHS records of 144 and 380.

BCHS Scorpion went up second from No.3 in the team competition with a two-game output of 3,182.

NOHS Strikers maintained fourth place with 3,012 followed by Lacsonian Dream Team with 3,010.

The other competitors and their scores: BCHS Warriors, 3,101; DLNHS RJ Stars, 2,960; BCNHS C’91, 2,931; St. Joseph – La Salle II, 2,925; NOHS Ulihing Tubo, 2,902; NOHS ’96 Lane Thunder, 2,897; St. Joseph – La Salle, 2,884; Luis Hervias National High School, 2,860; NOHS Queen of Hope, 2,856; NOHS C’90, 2,852; NOHS 300, 2,846; Lacsonian Ball Rollers, 2,842; NOHS ’62 Golden, 2,825; DLNHS C’92 Team G5, 2,753; Grupo Ochenta Y Tres, 2,715, and NOHS ’75 SEC Mix, 2,676.

A Non-rated Trio Fun Game will be held Saturday at the Negros Super Lanes.

At stake in the event are cash prize for the top three winners.

Registration is P750, exclusive of alley fees. Bowling enthusiasts in Bacolod City are invited to join. Games will start at 5:30 p.m.*HLG
