NOHS sets new record in
Inter-School bowlfest

Negros Occidental High School strengthened its bid for the top prize and set new records in the individual and team competition of the 1st Edition of Inter-school Friendship Cup 2013 at the Negros Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Eight overall at the start, the NOHS Pinbusters headed by Romel Jover, scored 1,733 points to grab the No.1 spot with a total score of 3,238, sending leader BCNHS 89 to third with only 3,139.

NOHS also made a new mark in the team single and triple with 619 and 1,733 eclipsing the old mark of 586 and 1,648 established by BCNHS Boysen in the first day of action.

NGAP gets ready for
PH Open in December

The National Golf Association of the Philippines will hold the Philippine Open in December at Wack Wack East with players from the Asian, One Asia and Japan Tours seeing action, a press release from the NGAP said.

Through this tournament, the organizers hope to unite the major golf tours in Asia.

One Asia has committed to enlisting 25 of its top players and is close to striking a deal with the Japan Tour to be able to invite at least the same number of standouts to play in the Dec. 5-8 event.

Vosotross keys DLSU win;
NU hands first loss to FEU

MANILA - The De La Salle University Green Archers started their second round campaign on a high note after escaping a 70-69 overtime nail biter against the Adamson Soaring Falcons, while National University Bulldogs dealt the Far Eastern University Tamaraws its first loss, 59-58, in the 76th Season of the UAAP at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.

Almond Vosotros buried the clutch corner jumper with 1.8 seconds left that broke the hearts of the Falcons who were not able to come back until the final buzzer sounded. The Green Archers improved their record to 4-4.

The streaky point guard capped off his all around performance by finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Arnold Van Opstal contributed 13 points.
