The first Trabaho Expo of RMN-DHYB held at the fountain area of the Robinson's Place mall in Bacolod City Sunday, drew 269 job seekers, the organizers of the event said yesterday.
Serafin Plotria, project team leader of the jobs fair, said four international agencies recruited skilled workers for Middle East countries and HongKong.
Ploria said 14 local firms, including the Central Negros Electric Cooperative and the Bacolod City Water District, offered engineering and office staff positions.
He said call center firms also offered positions for customer service and technical service representatives.
Plotria said some job applicants were hired on the spot, although there was no available data as of press time yesterday as to how many they were.
The job fair that was conducted in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment , Philippine Overseas Employment Administration , Public Employment Services Office and Jobseats.com, was in line with the 61 st anniversary of RMN-DHYB Bacolod.*APN
