Sabado Club secures final seat
in Bro. Ceci women's volleyball

The Sabado Club volleybelles beat defending champion Silay City in three straight sets, 25-16, 25-21, 25-13, to advance into the September 1 finals of the Women's Class B division of the 5 th Bro. Ceci Memorial Cup Volleyball Championship at the University of St. La Salle college covered court.

With the win, the Malot Lozada-mentored Sabado Club now awaits the winner in Saturday's game between Silay and USLS Team B for the championship showdown.

USLS B earned the right of facing Silay after turning back La Carlota squad in four sets, 25-11, 25-13, 22-25, and 25-20 in their Aug. 25 match-up. La Carlota bowed out of the contest at fourth place, while the loser in the USLS B-Silay tussle will settle for third place.

Binguan sizzles as Cobra
tames Tanduay, 107-87

Cobra Energy Drink got a big lift from Mark Binguan, who scored 42 points, and Rodel Canino, who debuted with 27 points, to route Tanduay Ice, 107-87, in the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Pol Hang Gym, Monday night.

Also getting into the win column was Asahi Super Dry with a 118-104 win against Absolute Water in the second game.

It was not a stroll in the park for Cobra as they have to dig themselves out of a 77-70 third quarter deficit and outscore Tanduay Ice, 37-10, in the final canto behind the dominating presence of Canino in low post while Jan Jan Young provided the outside firepower.

MCA bowlers rule
Sharp Friendship tilt

Mulo Car Aircon was champion in the premier division, Davies I topped the non-rated category, and Tiger Eye the women's bracket of the 23rd Sharp Friendship Cup 2013 Open Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The MCA/ASSFBI champion team, represented by Romulo Ramos, Rey Boy and Boy ‘Tisoy' Villanueva, beat Davies II composed of Romel Jover, Felipe Boy Romero Jr., Joe Latoza and Steve Ramos, 355-345.

Boy Villanueva topscored for the winning team with 133 points, while Ramos registered 115.
