Bing prays for
pork transparency

Bacolod Rep. Evelio “Bing” Leonardia yesterday led the invocation at the opening of yesterday's session at the House of Representatives and prayed with his colleagues that they will be able “to respond to the clamor of our people for transparency, honesty and judicious use of the resources of the nation.”

This was the first session to be held after the Million People March that saw ordinary citizens of the country marching and demanding the abolition of pork barrel funds, a press release from his office said.

Leonardia, in his invocation, said, “When we took our oath of office, Lord, we asked for Your help. So now we come to You once more for wisdom and strength that we shall be above political  and personal consideration in answering the call of duty.

“We submit, O Lord, to your plans for us, for we know You are never wrong and are only concerned with our welfare.

“Grant us then the grace to do what is right and pleasing, and  acceptable to You, so that no matter how difficult and arduous the task, we shall perform what is expected of us,” he also prayed in the invocation.*
