The Department of Budget and Management reported that the three congressmen from Negros Oriental got P106.65 million of the P578.25 million Priority Development Assistance Fund released to the 15 in Central Visayas early this year.
In the PDAF releases of district solons for 2013, the DBM said that then Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg. Or., 1st District) has a “continuing” appropriation of P1.65 million and “new” appropriation of P35 million, or a total of P36.65 million PDAF.
The biggest amount released was P5 million on Feb. 2, as financial assistance for livelihood programs/project and the conduct of training for small and medium enterprise/livelihood projects, such as intercropping, integrated pest management, aquaculture raising, fertilizer application, livestock training, value formation, proper operation and maintenance of shallow tube wells, small farm reservoir, technology transfer and knowledge, capacity building on livestock management; and organic farming method, with the local governments of Manjuyod, Bindoy, Tayasan, Jimalalud, La Libertad, Ayungon, Vallehermoso, Canlaon City, Guihulngan City and La Libertad as recipients, the report said.
In the second district, reelected Rep. George Arnaiz was allotted a P35 million PDAF. The biggest amount released was P2 million on Feb. 8 as financial assistance for a scholarship program for 875 indigent students in the Negros Oriental State University, with 400 scholars in the campuses of Dumaguete and Bais, the DBM said.
In the third district, reelected Rep. Pryde Henry Teves also has a P35 million PDAF. Biggest allocation released was P3.08 million on March 13 as financial assistance for medical mission, including the purchase of medicines (consultation/check up, dental check up, distribution of medicines and vitamins) in Basay town, Negros Oriental, the report added.
